At the age of eighteen
I am an adult but still a kid
I hate that
I am either too young
Or too old
To do things I love
Soon will go to college
Excited to be
But filled with fear
It’s all the expectations
About who and what I will become
The divide between kid and adult
Will narrow with each day
Soon I will be the adult teaching kids
Instead of adults teaching me
