Adolescent Agnst

We want to be treated like adults
When we still act like kids
Making the same old mistakes
And falling on our faces again

I want to grow up
But I'm not yet a grown up
Childhood is long gone and
Of adolescence I'm not too fond

Maturity goes hand in hand with age
It's a fact that will never change
Respect is earned too sowly
Starting out as very lowly

I want a chance to prove I can
Be the adult that I think I am
Start my own life and not look back
Footsteps falling on that path

Leading me towards an ancient goal
Setting me up for Nature's tole
Someday I'll be old and spent
And I tell you the story and what it meant
