In the passing heat of the ephemeral spring

Beneath the sound of interstate

Atop decrepit track of neglected railroad

Surrounded by walls of painted wisdom

Of littered art

Of withered graffiti

We sat to recollect

"Life's purgatory" I say

The in between of man and child

The realization time is fleeting

The realization it affects our lives

Forever

"Earth's waiting room" you say

To realize that where we're at right now is not a halt

But a slow moving train

So long as we know the destination

The trip matters most

And so in the passing heat of the fleeting spring

Beneath the sound of interstate

Atop decrepit track of neglected railroad

Surrounded by walls of painted wisdom

We sat to recollect
