Accepting Night

The moon is round, And ice-cream white. I sit outside, and it feels right.  Finally, I can breathe out tonight;  There are no problems Lurking in the night It feels so calm and so gentle;  This is exactly where I need to be;  Not tucked in bed, protected or safe, But out below the stars, alone,  Completely free. Even the gusts of wind have gone to sleep. Nothing disturbs the vast, Black deep, Of the sky; Out here, my soul can truly fly  The chill is tingling on my skin,  But it is pleasant, and I smile;  The sky is a good friend,  Far better than I'll ever be. It will accept and understand  All that you bring to it. It’ll tell you to be free. To let your soul fly, Reach up and touch the sky,  Everything will be alright.
