Dialogue

We are the same, you and I
Same hopes, same fears, same dreams
Same heart, same mind, same eyes
We have much in common, it seems

Why am I free while you are trapped?
I’m guilty of midnight skin and coarse hair
Surely we are not all so mentally handicapped?
Ask yourself if the world is fair

It’s not, ‘tis true, but why?
Perhaps fear of equality
Do we have an infinite fear supply?
Fear will always reign supreme

So why must we be afraid of you?
We are too much alike for you to take
But does anyone else know the truth?
No, but it must be yours to break
