At What Point, When Did…

At what point did I realize your smile was worth more than I could afford

At what point were my intentions in your best interest

At what point was I trying to get your attention

At what point did I notice your nervous habits

At what point was I ashamed of my own pain because I cared for yours

It was when you kept what I gave

It was when you asked me to help you

It was when I asked to give my own to you

It was when I rewatched the moments and wished I reached out and offered comfort

It was when I stopped my crying because you had a comment on what I did

And yet …

It made me feel like I had a worth just it be helpful

It made me realize I would sit hours, I would watch doors, I would run your errands

All if you called my name
