And You Were Holding My Hand

I peered out the window
I saw you leave
and somehow
I was not surprised.

You hated it here
you rebelled against me
because I never could
I never could replace her

Then everything changed
the sky fell down
Everything was black
and cold

Then I turned to my left
and
you were holding my hand.
