Oleander seeds
Down deep in my nightmare,
My shadow of despair,
A black demonic snake,
Reminded me I was awake.
In the darkness I went,
With a soft attractive scent,
Unable to think,
It all seemed like a blink.
The sweet seeds, so tender,
Of a pretty oleander,
I tasted it's calming petal,
My sleep would be eternal.
Unwanted by death and life,
Subject to my mind's strife,
I realized even there, I failed,
Crept on the ground and wailed.
But if I escape the graveyard,
I will still be permanently scarred.
