This is what it's like being a teen

Dying my hair purple, blue, or pink

Getting a lip piercing, maybe a nose ring

Feeling like I can do almost anything

Staying out late with all of my good friends

Or at another's house before the weekend

Having a voice by making my own decisions

But great responsibility comes with my freedom

Walking into my first interview with hope

Driving down a few long, empty roads

Talking to important people on my own

Growing up has never felt so close

Finding out who I am truly meant to be

Searching for what's hiding underneath

All my questions are answered by me

My future is something I can finally see
