A Blank Piece of Paper

A blank piece of paper can contain something so numb

So numb that I must succumb

It  can contain something never contained

It can explain something never explained before

And may open a whole new door

It can be the reason I’m breathing

It can be the reason I’m bleeding

It can show how sad, mad or even glad we are

It can show just how much we have had

It can show that just a simple piece of paper can end very bad

As I sit here with a notepad and a pen, I realize just how much you meant

I will allow myself, just this one time, too vent

Suddenly I can see you, I’m bent

The paper is no longer blank, now, it’s filled with my biggest “mistake”

Next to the paper, no longer blank I see a gun and think it’s time to make the big “mistake”

I pick up the gun and take it to my head

All of the sudden, I am dead

Oh, what a blank piece of paper can contain
