Temporary Happiness

Wed, 10/17/2018 - 15:27 -- xtyv03

when you think of temporary happiness,

you probably think of

sweetness,

laughter,

content,

joy.

we hold onto moments

like a tree to its soil,

yet they fly by

like dandelions in the breeze

we can try our best to

relive,

remember,

retell these stories.

as if they were our only source of euphoria

but of course,

all good things must come to an end,

and the unwanted idea,

that these fleeting moments of happiness

are indeed temporary,

entirely consumes us

we let this happen because we believe

that the bad outweighs the good,

even though we dont want to.

we unwillingly trust that the

bright,

warmthful,

welcoming sun,

has the future of an

eclipsed,

numbing,

sinister darkness.

however,

another unpredictable subject

enters our lives,

and again

we are faced with temporary happiness.
