You set the standards high

Without you there is no me.

The way you smile puts me at ease.

The chuckle of your laugh brings me to my knees.

My mind is a constant battle of trying to find the words to say how you've inspired me and pushed me to grow.

When all I can think about is the way in which your face glows.

When I was small you believed in me.

You let me ride the big kid bike when I was only three.

You let me ride on the back of your motorcycle, up and down the long roads, looking at the beautiful trees,

I felt free.

You gave me a dart and told me, if you can win you can have a scratcher,

not knowing at the time, that that was the catcher.

You taught me in order to achieve,

You have to fight and believe.

Believe that nothing will come between me and the prize,

To live a life well fought, I would soon realize.

That when you fail it isn't over,

There's always a second chance.

Who knows, you may be lucky like a four leaf clover.

Your stories never cease to amaze me,

Having a little of....this

And a little of....that

And the "mysterious" packages left on your doormat.

“I found a great movie, it’s about a boy who finds Jesus,” you once told me.

Not knowing that to me, I knew you could see the life I wanted to lead.

You believed in me.

Even though you saw differently,

you chose to accept me and the way I chose to see things.

I love you Papa and the man you are to me,

In all honesty, without you there really is no me.
