The Mountain
It was Friday night,
The clouds were encroaching on the skies above
Terror filling the lands below
Darkness invading the Earth around us
Eating away at the space from where the birds were perched, up there in the trees
The darkness was moving from left to right
Filling up the space with a blink of an eye
Lightning crashed
Thunder rumbled
My stomach bubble…
I looked around, smiles were like legends of a folktale
Laughter silenced at the drive of a nail
I couldn’t even see my brothers face 5 inches away from my grasp
There we were, sitting on the dirt pavement there perched up against a rock
Glissoning droplets flowing down my cheeks
I look over to my left…they were crying too,
Robes of silver colorless drapes down their hopeless faces
I didn’t know what to think
I turn my head over to the right…
Terror like red roses on their faces
They were MEAN!
they were ANGRY!
EVIL
THEY WERE CURSING
LOUD NOISES
REHEARSING
EVERY SECOND
EVERY HOUR
STILL YELLING
THEY WERE SPITTING
THROWING
EPLODING WITH CURSES AT HIM!
TAUNTING and GAMBLING
THEIR SOULS HAVE ALL FALLEN APART!
BLACK and GRAY
were THE COLORS OF THEIR BROKEN HEARTS!
This was all before they viciously flogged him
Glass ripped through his flesh
Saliva pierced the skies like bad medicine
Men…
armed with sticks, whips, and the cat of 9 tales
Tales of Grief
Tales of Discomfort
Tales of Agony
And of glass, digging their own graves through his skin
So close to murder you could it on his face
Blood…
like crushed cranberries flowing from every orface of his being, as they dried up in their place
I looked down…… my feet submerged in rotted red wine!!
After the 39th lash, he gasps for air, as the T shaped figure slowly encroaches on him
I’m screaming inside!
HOPLESS!!!
But no reply…
The Roman men up there were embodied by the Devil himself
They forged his skin with hollow holes as He hiked up that mountain
Whipping his exposed skin at every chance they had
My…Momma told me not to follow them up the mountain, but I did anyways
As I trecked up that hill, every fiber of my being wanted to help him
Surrounded by a mob of blood sick animals
The crowds grew insane
Sweat like watered down fruit punch pouring from his thorn pierced skull!
We finally ascended the hill
He carried that tree like all the lives in that mob depended on it
But that was hours ago now, as I try to keep myself from staring at the three men hanging on the crosses of the mountain
My tears have now become a fountain
He had it the worst, nails keeping him attached from feet to hand
He didn’t deserve it but they did
He didn’t earn it but we did
There’s a lot of talk about this man up there and of all of which I’m certain…
IVE SEEN HIS TEACHINGS IVE HEARD HIS TRUTHS!
He’s in the middle
King of the Jews written on the label
In the middle of two criminals
In the middle of his creations
But ….they didn’t know that yet, we didn’t know that yet
They looked at him like a man, but really he was their king
He looked up to his father
Said to you I come
Tears of agony as the vinegar touched his tongue
The man on the right said “You are the one!”
Paradise was on his lips, hope of blood written on his hands, nails of happiness in his feet…
His name was Jesus!!
The son of God! The Son of Man! Being murdered by his own plan…
I sunk into the ground, love shining off of his face like a crown
Blood and water poured out of him and it was finished, it was done…
But it wasn’t over yet, I ran down the hill and didn’t look back!
The Earth shook at every step I took,
The world stopped
For a moment I was drowning, but then my tears washed me up onto shore
The next two days all was gloomy and dark
The sun picked up where it left off, but its presence stark
Everyone around me tried to go on with their lives
But it turns out that we were all stabbed with the same knives…
until it happened,
I remember it just like it was yesterday
I was walking through the streets and saw him
Golden smile lit up his face, he shined as the holes on his hands took their place
HE CAME BACK TO LIFE!!!!!
The curse was no more, all of our pain was washed away with his blood
This was love!
Not that we loved him but that he loved us!
Our father sent his son as a sacrifice for us!
He’s my father! He’s my dad! He’s my friend! He’s my savior!
And I walked around that day with a laugh
Knowing that I’m safe in his arms forever
With a hope, a hope that one day my children would be free
Free from sin and full of life.
What I saw on that mountain, on that day, was love boundless love is what ill show the world with him in my heart forever.
And I’ll see him again sometime soon, in paradise he said
I’m sure it will be a lot of fun not in darkness but with happiness and hope instead!
