Thank You for You

Starting from nowhere you rose up,

You wrote your own music, yet you were criticized,

You tell us how you cried, feared, and felt lost,

Thank you for your honesty.

Success followed as you kept being yourself,

You rose out of your peninsula,

The underdog who broke through a wall of prejudice,

Thank you for being my inspiration.

Seven of you who realize that there are always hardships,

Yet you tell us that even those can be part of our most beautiful moment in life,

You remind us that we can still be happy in the process of wanting to achieve,

Thank you for making me believe.

Sometimes we want to hide away,

When it comes to myself, the standards are always highest,

You come to tell use that it’s okay to forgive ourselves,

Thank you for helping me love myself.
