Character in time

Ephesians 5:3-4 New English Translation (NET Bible)But among you there must not be either sexual immorality, impurity of any kind, or greed, as these are not fitting for the saints. 4 Neither should there be vulgar speech, foolish talk, or coarse jesting—all of which are out of character—but rather thanksgiving. Out of character at times ...

“Character”, where do you hang out?

Where do you spent all of your time?

Is it in the chambers of the soul

which claim to be fully mine?

How do I try to analyze

where you originated?

Did you start all from within

or were you orchestrated.

You’re defiled as my body is.

You’re fully independent.

You depend on self, I know,

and are mostly underhanded.

You are at the heart all activity

and define all my schemes.

The bad and the acceptable,

the moving and the stranded.

You are hostile to the Spirit.

You embrace my very soul.

You’re just like my body.

You don’t ever let go.

Since you and I are capable

to do some good at times.

You think to be all of me

but spirituality you don’t know.
