Dear Society...

Dear Society,

We are meant to stand together,

not draw a line in the sand.

Our ancestors worked for unity,

and we seem to misunderstand.

The human race is beautiful,

a work of art.

Learning to see the beauty,

is a good place to start.

The worth of an individual

is not defined by outer appearance.

The worth of an individual

Flows from a strong perserverence.

Now is the time, a new revolution.

To change our definitions.

Today we accept each other,

and erase superstitions.

It does not matter

who you are

what you wear

where you live

who you love

or how you identify.

Beauty and inteligence are not defined

by the superficial labels we establish

but by the character we exhibit

and the works that we do.

Let's begin by sealing our lips,

and opening our arms.

The time to speak has slipped,

Until we may learn to do no harm.

Do not shame me

society.

Our perceptions are warped

and you are to blame.

The times have changed

some say for the better

but have we really progressed?

I disagree with the latter.

Until we can love each other

and live in harmony

do not say we are on the mend

we are as broken as ever.

Sincerly,

Me
