Why I Stayed.

Why do I stay?

By Tabitha Ookami

Because I love you I stay

Through the shouting

Through the cursing

I would have left a long time ago

If I could have taken you with me

That sad smile

That seems to last mile

Those angered tears

From broken eyes

Because of his lies

You kept me safe

Protected and guarded

The warmth that held me through the night

Let me see the light

Your eyes shined bright

Even though we saw worst

Through the darkened night

Till you could come at first light
