A Life Long Wait

Location

They aren’t living, they’re avoiding death

Life is shabby and death is graceful

They can’t see life as a death wish

A wish to be living at your death

When I die I’ll be falling

Past the windows and suits to open grey arms

I’ll be screaming and cutting

My inner thoughts dripping out

I’ll be painting when I go

My white walls, with a single bang,

Come to life as my life ends

I’ll be laughing, I’ll be dreaming

But I won’t be crying

While I’m dying I’ll be smiling

I’ll be dying but I won’t close

My eyes and drift away

I’ll make death trip up and find a way

To catch me to take me to beat me

I can’t wait for death’s sweet grip

Cause I’ll have called his name
