Watching America's Promise Disappear

Can you see through the smog in the air

In which the sun’s bright light is dimming from space debris, but we do not care

Twilight's last gleaming, the only time the harsh pollution is hidden

Broad strips of land being destroyed and bidden

Stars rapidly becoming city lights

Other countries waving their surrender flags in fright

Our red, evil eyes scream for total and utter dominance

Only to fashion absolute prominence

Sending rockets, missiles, bombs to and fro

Ending one life after another, causing a great state of woe

Only because of segregation and different opinions

But in one conformist country, we are all just minions

Just to prove that our flag is the ultimate power, never going away, still there

Does this represent the home of the free and the brave?

Or do I need to keep searching for this elsewhere...
