You Were Not a Monster
You were not a Monster
You were just a teen
Whose Crucible- whose Pain
You kept discreet
You come from generations
To children they See-not Hear
Should problems these sentient Toys befell
The solution- Bible-Beer-Belt
"Be Seen-Not Heard"
"Spare the Rod Spoil the Child"
These platitudes helped create
A generation gone wild
And the Society
The Parent so pretentious
Putting on the airs of Stability
With a House so contentious
When resources were bestowed
Your family's were scant
Plenty to go around?
Maybe for an ant
To rub salt
Into wounds invisible to Eyes
Lecherous-Belligerent-Miscreant
You-the Parent demonized
Now that I see you
I no longer see horns
Rather an imbrued Heart
Ravaged by Thorns
