the people v. georgia
to whom this may concern: i am now free
i do not wish to sing thee barren praise
nor have it fall on eyes that cannot see
i spend my dreams in fields and lazy days
i’m free, i claim, within thy win’try grasp
i long to feel the sun shine on my back
i know thy palms, so frigid i could gasp
i feel the cold of hell upon thy rack
with thou the colors churn ‘twixt grey and red
with her, a warmth that washes blue and pink
so when i fina’lly bring myself to bed
she shoots her arrows, cause my ship to sink
i’d rather be a sunken ship to she
than on thy island longing for the sea
