Misconceptual Love

Thu, 02/11/2016 - 14:23 -- A-7

Isn't it ironic?

We're taken for granted, by those that we love,

Yet we take for granted, those that love us,

Its like a never ending cycle chasing this love,

But when you have it, it just never seems to be enough,

Generation upon generation born with a misconception,

Born with an unsatisfied heart seeking love and affection,

But many people fail because they only search for perfection,

When they themselves, are filled with many imperfections,

I was told, to treat those the way that I'd want to be treated,

That loyalty and unconditional love is what this world needed,

But how can this coexist in a world filled with broken hearts?

Hearts left cold and empty, completely torn apart,

When will we start to look past a persons defections?

When will we appreciate a beautiful heart and mind, intellection?

When will we treat one another like Kings and Queens, instead of like pawns...

I guess its true what they say, you never appreciate what you have, until it's gone...
