Ode to Arlington Cemetery

Tombs, tombs, thousands of tombs -

As far as the eye can see.

The blood of patriots spilled -

To water Freedom's sacred tree.

How brave they were, O God indeed,

To fight and die for me.

Though still unborn, they thought of us -

If America lost her liberty.

So for the honor of those who rest -

May all of us take a knee.

There might every man pay them homage -

There in Arlington Cemetery.
