building perfection inside my head
an architectural masterpiece
that cannot ever be achieved
we don't have the technology
to unmake my make-believe
tearing it down brings relief.
planting a sapling on my lawn
in soil fertile from volcanoes
the weeds invade from far away
the ground is struck by acid rain
only magma can stay the pain
burning it down brings relief.
the problem with skyscrapers is in the name
my towers would be endless and untamed.
the value in flowers is their natural ephemerality
a gentle reminder of fragile reality.
I am an architect of potential
I am a harvester of ash
I reap the nonessential
then They throw it in the trash.
