Hope In all Places

Agonizing reprisals coming from the minds throat,

The inner chasm penetrated with bullets,

Signs of retaliation , scars not fading.

The sea brewing storm waves,

Drowning in the appearance of sorrow,

Pain like winds that shred steel,

What must be done to feel?

Dormant rallies of those stuck,

surrounded by quicksand nightmares,

Trails of plodded walkways.

Emotions stumble inside shadow caverns,

Tainted fingers holding their own salvation,

Lights losing the tint formed from colors.

Cement doors lay unopened,

Just another place in desolation,

Filled with disillusionment.

It started from lies,

Deception grappling with sure honesty,

Hope was lost on a battlefield,

Where bombs sprayed pestilent cries,

A disease so virulent spread wide.

They demanded money for the cure,

A dollar to save a child's life,

How is that fair?

Faith was shaken when lives ended,

Wounded in every corner,

But there were those who remained,

With torches deep within their hearts,

Flames that overpowered all tribulations.

For they lived and had the answers,

Trust, love, integrity, morality

Four words that put judgement on them,

For they soon would rebuild and reclaim home.
