Ode to Fort Lauderdale Beach
Location
I can hear the crash of the mighty waves on the shore
my feet are submerged into the prickly sand
The ocean stretches as far as my eye can see
All I want to do is breathe in
the familiar salty scent
where my childhood began
Memorial were made on this beach
tears of joy are brought before my eyes
as I remember my mother holding me by the hand
leading me to the ocean full of uncertainty
plastic yellow shovel in one hand
plastic blue bucket in the other
building fantasy then
building life
