As I Walk Away

Walking in a daze I am leaving behind a piece;

A piece which completes my puzzle.

I left this piece with you so I could take a walk on the wild side.

I decided to leave you with my heart,

Trusting that it would never be lost or forgotten.

It’s a big piece of the puzzle that creates me.

Where is it that I found the courage to let go

And give you what completes me?

Is it those mornings I wake up to the feeling of your warm embrace?

Or the butterflies I receive each time I enter your presence.

Or maybe it’s the way you come alive during the night time

With an intense passion that drives we wild.

I haven’t the slightest clue why the bond between us is so extraordinarily tight,

But it has caused me to trust you with my most sacred puzzle piece.

It’s time for me to embark on a journey that does not include you.

I don’t know if I will ever ask for my piece back.

I do know you will forever have a hold on me…
