Afraid

Sun, 01/19/2014 - 13:09 -- cgoins

I wish people would stop being so afraid.

I don't need world peace,

or three wishes from a genie.

Just one word to quiet the dismayed,

so people would cease to be so afraid.

The white man is afraid of the black man.

The cheerleader is afraid of the punk.

We all seem to be afraid of something,

whether you're a homeless man or a modeling hunk.

But what are we to fear?

Death or drugs or crippling despair?

No, I'll fight to live.

I won't shed a tear.

Look around you.

Feel the life.

Feel the beauty.

Feel the grace.

Enjoy it all.

Let you're heart race.

Don't be afraid.
