Logging Away Our World
Beautifully sustained
Naturally retained
Trees standing tall in their glory
A man and his wife
Through poorness and strife
Kept the forest alive
Enter a grave
And a son with a chain
And the trees bow down to the ground
No birds call it home
The wind's all alone
And its needles blow dead in the wind
Walk down the street
And whoever you meet
Can attest to the very same thing
A forest they love
The sky high above
Was no longer there the next day
If we keep doing this
There is much we will miss
As we chop down our world tree by tree
Keep standing our woods
And not where they stood
Our world will live for tomorrow
