She smiled at him with the stars in her eyes,
He returned the gesture with a gentle kiss,
Which earned a giggle of surprise,
He gave a grin of utter bliss,
We walked by night, dropped our troubles
As though the water we tried to avoid cleansed us,
But it didn't, did it?
We walked on in conversation or in silence,
And either way I felt privileged to be by your side.
I love you
but you don't love me
So technically I'm not IN love with you
your oblivious to the things you make my heart do
so i tell my brain not to follow through
