color blind

Darkness all around me.
When I was young the doctor told me I had become color blind.
I didn't know what to say but at least my doctor was kind.
I ran outside to see the sky I knew to be blue
If only we were color blind…
The hurt,
The pain,
The feeling of being the undeserving, or
The inferior would disappear.
I’m color blind
What can I say?
Under the sun’s rays
We are all the same.
Black or white
Does it truly matter?
Rosa Parks was right
She knew better.
