An Unknown World

I hear birds chirping,

As the sun hits my face.

The sight of fireflies glowing,

This is something that can't be replaced.

Who would know we are at war?

They hear bombs.

As loved ones die.

While all we hear are the fireworks on the 4th of July!

This disease won’t stop growing.

Everything they own is destroyed.

The debris is the only thing they see.

All vegetation devoured,

This can not be!

How can this side of the word be serene,

While the other side is unseen?

Peace and quiet in the midst of suffering.

This can’t be!
