Unknown or a vague guess?

Hebrews 10:26-27 New English Translation (NET Bible)

26 For if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins is left for us, 27 but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume God’s enemies.

Titus 3:7 New English Translation (NET Bible)

And so, since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.”

Expectations where do you come from?

Where, for goodness sake, do you originate?

Why are you so different from being reborn?

As you dominate many others to enslave?

“Be no respecters of persons,” written long ago

This now seems to have been long forgotten

As the admired leaders stepping on all foes

As direct behavior and will of the ill-begotten

Servant and slave searching for a master

“Give me security,” seems their lonely cry

From birth to death in the hope of being faster

Then their peers, in their fruitless lives

“Give me life and liberty,” whispers from history

Pointed out by futility in the search for happiness

Good, bad, and confusion interweaved in a potpourri

That is now feeding all in some fateful faithlessness

Stuffed to the brim with nowhere to go

We crawl into a corner to analyze our blessings

If we close our eyes, we will surely know

That whatever happens is a gift of our guessing

We don’t need to leave our hibernation

When we wake up, all will just get worse

Maybe after all, in our field of frustration

We’ll reap what we sowed stuffed in a hearse
