Three Seconds

Three Seconds

Three Seconds on the Clock,

Fear being Blocked by Courage

Tick.

Two seconds left,

thoughts continuously pound your skull

Tick.

Last chance, you have the words ready

you open your mouth but the words won’t come out,

Tock.

Time’s up, it’s over now.

blast back to reality,

Oh there goes gravity,

you stand there awake,

starting to shake

you know what to say but not how to say it,

you look in the sky

hoping you could fly far away from here,

you try but the shame is an anchor,

tied to your ankle.

she stands there now,

waiting

Tick.

You hear the clock still ticking,

Your courage comes back,

the anchor is gone,

you grab her, and fly,

as high as you could,

stop, hovering in the air, you say the words that wouldn’t come out,

“Hi”
