Proverbs 23:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV)

Do not eat the bread of a miser,
Nor desire his delicacies;
7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
“Eat and drink!” he says to you,
But his heart is not with you.

Thought patterns

A little note and a few words are written in solitude

A heart in search of meaning to be remembered by

A simple quote in some accord to please the multitude

So to stroke admiration of the self and the self-satisfied

A call for help in loneliness with a heart of uncertainty

A smoldered cry and outstretched hand nowhere to hold on

An empty well in only-ness reassigned to a real calamity

A wonder why in a deserted land with little left to grow-on?

Wide awake in a deep sleep with nightmares coming through

Dreams of yesterday in disarray now seem long forgotten

A slithering snake from deep within trying to hide the truth

That God loves His children’s play as in Grace they’re begotten
