A Stronger Weakness

Sometimes the pain and the emotions do overtake.
They build and build and the dam is ready to break.
So strong I cannot be to stop what must take place
and the tears run hot and ragged down my face.

Hands never touch me in comfort as I cry my woes.
The closest that come to watch my despair are my foes.
They laugh and they dance around my weeping eyes.
How they hate and cackle their despise.

Must I endure this horror alone
sitting solemn and lonesome on my own?
I have conquered the beast of death
that would have taken my friend's last breath.

Yet he follows me hidden in his shadows
Ever present like a criminal's mind on the gallows.
No worries befall you, for, I shall pirate away your pain
and steal and slay what you thought not could be slain.

I am a soldier and a fighter among lovers
A lady and a monster under your covers.
A slash of red across my lips draws me to war.
The swish of my dress as I dance along the sandy shore.

You are enamored by me, no?
Be my friend, not my foe.
Because when you need my blade.
into the shadows I will not fade.

When Grim comes calling to the voices in your head.
I will save you from yourself in your lover's stead.
But again, when my emotions do overtake,
do not abandon me for friendship's sake.
