Stand up Straight, Carry that Weight

how can i stand up straight with the weight of the world on my shoulders

how can i stand up straight with no confidence to hold my shoulders back

see since i was young i've been trying to make myself smaller

but i kepy growing and so did the

weight

of the world on my shoulders

and the wieght hanging precariously on my bones

each pound another neon sign to the world that apparently

this girl can handle the weight of the world on her shoulders!

so let's stack on more and more until she breaks and let's laugh while we do it

but i do it to myself as well

see the weight of the world is not so heavy

but the weight of your mind is the heaviest

tons and tons, feathers and bricks

stacked on backs

concrete cinder blocks pulling me under the current

weighing me down until i hit the bottom and try to float

only to sink

because the weight of my mind

and the weight of the world on these shoulders

has finally pulled me deep under and there is no hope of getting back

no rescue crew will find me i'll be

here

at the bottom

with the weight of the world on my shoulders

while i see the shadows of others floating above me

and wonder if they notice i'm right below them

waiting for anything or anybody

to lift my heavy heart from the bottom of this damn river

But it's hard to stand up straight

when you're sinking fast

under the weight of your mind

and the weight of the world

on

your

shoulders
