The Question Pt.2

The question of loneliness which I hold
Why am I here, and where do I turn
Why is everyone so cold
And for what do I yearn
These questions that I ask you and everyone else
When will I feel full of wealth
Will it be on graduation day?
Or the day my son comes to age
To move onto college as well
And those tears, oh those tears
For they will swell on my eyelids
Like the dawn creeping in the morn
For I will know then
That all the sacrifices
All the pain
All the time
All of it , well spent
But until then
I will always ask
Where do I turn?
To become what one sees
Or to become what one believes
To chase my dreams
Or do as I'm told to be
Wealth is measured by money
Why can't it be measured by peace
By love
By laughs
and the occasional beat
Of two hearts as the come to rest
And the man falls asleep on her breast
His heart full of wealth
For she is his one and only
And he is to her what God is to the cold and lonely
A passion so strong
Yet they question where their love belongs
Everything a question
Is she the one? Will he father my son?
Where will you study? How much money?
Or what is the cost? The real cost
The cost of tears and pain that's lost
Years of late nights and study guides
Late shifts and train rides
All to get to a moment in time
where you yet again will be questioned
Why can't we have answers
Answers to the questions we seek
Questions to answer the weak
Or maybe just the answer as to why we
Strive so much to obtain a cheap
Fake and unreal reality of being rich
Wealthy
Sick
Needy
And greedy
A society who feeds on questions of its cities
Unknown to most but loved by many
These questions which drive our lives
And leave us alone, broken and dying
Because we will never receive the answer
Until the day we meet our final banter
Our last words of triumph
As the we and the answers become one
