The Price That You Pay

Listen to me and heed my words,
For I deliver unto thee,
Knowledge of days gone by,
An accounting of your future missteps,
miscalculations, lapses in judgment,
blunders which will bring about anguish,
heartache, nostalgic uneasiness and regret.
I only attempt to save you from your
destiny and one possible future.
I have it seems acuity and awareness,
Exude love, honor and kindness,
Live your life well, with fortitude,
restraint and tolerance.
When you have matured and you are tired and gray,
Be proud when you chronicle days gone by,
Your memories it seems will be all you have left,
Be weary today of the here and now,
For the price you will pay downstream,
May be far more than you are willing to bare.
