Genesis 12:1&3 The Obedience of Abram
12 Now the Lord said to Abram,
“Go out from your country, your relatives, and your father’s household to the land that I will show you.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
but the one who treats you lightly I must curse,
and all the families of the earth will bless one another by your name.”

In the past before time began
a “chosen” gift was given.
Provided for a people
by the “Power” well defined.
The gift was more the eye could see
more than men’s comprehension.
More than the mind could absorb
because it was spiritually refined.
Carved in Love and based on Truth
as only God could see it.
It included a place to live -
a land of milk and honey.
Through miracles and wonders
they moved towards that place.
To wind up in a desert,
and to be lost kind of funny?
Paradise before them
in fear they passed it by.
Nothing left behind them
but death in its course.
The only “hope” their children
a newborn generation
who had the trust and innocence
to enter the promised door.
Years just passed the land was lost
and so was their commitment.
to the One Who deep in Love
gave them the gift of “Life.”
Their memory left long ago
their will did not recall it
until the day of suffering
and they were full of strife.
In space and time, after many a year
they returned unto their country.
A place to live “maybe” secure,
no milk and honey left.
Some desert land here and there
and that of their own making.
A place to call their own
for which long they felt bereft
To give away now part of His
to folks who can’t accept Him
Who gave it in the first place
to the ones He deeply loved?
Surely it is not in His will
to take the “Promised Land”
and again break in pieces
the home Christ called from above
