I found a phobia so feared if left to feel ev'ry eye will cry, ev'ry spine will quiver, the weakest will cause their [own] death. This inertia is beyond me. Will you be an aid to drift me away? Laying down, my mind is vacant with the exception of a hollow haunting; the thought that taunts me: What will I have after I’ve done all I know? Every man for himself may as well be an omen of the end. This is Armageddon. Be the change or suffer the same. I’m not scared to close my eyes, it’s when I open them again. I’m not scared to close my eyes, the horror already began...This is the nightmare: trapped in this empty routine. Shake me, startle to wake me, scream and yell at me. Don’t let me fall asleep!

This poem conjures a powerful image, of someone being afraid of the world they live in, which is something we all feel sometimes and we need to believe that working together will help us to make the world a better place.
