#nofilter

An outer shell warm and bright with a smile from ear-to-ear

is the painting I portray everyday while other people are near

Rambunctious, exiting, humorous, and never a moment aloof

until I’m alone, safe in my home under my placid roof

Without a filter, free of my façade, plain and simple me

a basic structure, authentic in manner how we all should truly be

No exterior, color, or mask, to embellish my own simple look

the way they should see, classic and free, so people know not to judge covers of books

Shy but humorous, wild but tamed, and thoughts without restraint

Until I add my filter, hiding my insecurities, and the authentic me now with taint
