No One

Empty spaces in her soul

No one else can fill the hole

When he left she didn’t cry

She couldn’t even blink an eye

“I’m so sorry for your loss”

Every night she’ll turn and toss

Those words echo in her head

She can’t even go to bed

It hurt so much she couldn’t breathe

No one told her that’s how you grieve

That pain will never go away

But it gets easier day by day

One more step, one more smile

Her brother’s dead all the while

They’ll meet again the day she goes

But when it is, no one knows
