Night shift

Psalm 127:2

It is vain for you to rise early, come home late,
and work so hard for your food.
Yes, he can provide for those whom he loves even when they sleep.

Night work (until I rested all day)

I missed out again ... nights are not my strongpoint

Early in the evening I slowly shutdown

It does not take long before sleep knocks on the door

and then simply slips in ... to take over without sound

I am facing a loosing battle ... my armor all slipped off

I am searching for some “will” ... to stay awake a while

My enemy is sleek ... more like a soothing voice

that takes me by the hand to a sphere filled with guile

Reality is gone now ... my flesh out of the picture

I am now surrounded by a state of nothingness

I don’t have to go on ... to prove that I am a fixture

that somewhere floundered ... in self-chosen emptiness
