A New Spring

The auburn sunset rings against
My eyes
The smell of fresh-fried
shrimp wafting in through rectangular
canals of a bus
a cool breeze lifts
the heat and fatigue and worries
the bright-eyed sun beats against a gray leather
seat, focusing its glory on one point
It cannot be contained, though the
Tainted blades of glass and coarse edges
attempt to
I hear spring all
Around
It is light, crisp,
Reminder of beauty,
too strong to be
Unnoticed, and too light to be
Overwhelming
Winter's echo surpassed, finally all
Around me is peace
