I've been walking down a road 

Thinking I could hold my own.

Didnt want any help from anyone or

Anything.

 

It was good for a while 

Until my test,

My first trial

Came and knocked me down on my knees. 

 

It was then when I saw 

That I couldn't do it all 

And that I was so 

Weak. 

 

With my head bowed down

Feeling humble,not proud

I begged God to forgive and 

To lead me.

 

Within that moment, I found his mercy 

and peace. 

 

Now a new, refound soul

I felt like I had the power

To do anything without the

Holy One Above.

 

Sadly, that glory was short lived

When temptation came in the form of men

And lust feverishly rised within

Causing me to sin

 

With now dark clouds around me,

I felt lost from His path

And from his everlasting,

Unfailing love.
