Muffled cries when he trespasses her innocence

Until he is found, she crouches in fear

Tonight, she will relive the nightmare

Everyone can see her, but no one can hear her

MUTE.

Midnight prayers that she doesn't upset him again

Underneath the make up lies the old and new hues of purple

Tomorrow, I will be a better wife

Everyone can see her, but no one can hear her

MUTE.

Mirrors are avoided by her solemn gaze

Ugly is all she's ever been called

Tears are shed but no words are said

Everyone can see her, but no one can hear her

MUTE.

Mornings finally shine light on her

Up is where she raises her head

To stand tall and to yell out loud

Everyone can see her, and everyone can hear her

MUTE.
