Marriage ...

Marriage

1 Corinthians 13:4

Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag,

it is not puffed up.

Traveling down lover’s lane with a body all tore up

Dragging a few steps at a time as progress seems unnoticed

It all started as a game to fill a broken cup

That was neither yours nor mine in a reality out of focus

The first steps were so easy as excitement blinded us

But the moment we woke up reality became uncertain

I went here for the pleasing and now another wants my trust

I have to share all I saved up and that will be a hurting

Marriage is a lot like that, we don’t know what we get into

How can we give up and let go of the things we never had?

Slicing and trimming all the fat of our selfish ways and proofs

Admittance to understand the rights and wrongs in heart and head
