Lying in Ash

one day when all has been made dust

shattered into oblivion

destroyed in rubble and ash

we will be no more.

i will not remember you,

and you will have bones in your

blood and guts in your skin.

a different world will arise

one in which we will not love

or see or taste or touch or

feel or live.

we will be in eternal darkness

or maybe eternal light or wherever

infinity takes us.

there are no for sures or even what ifs

but there isn't anything so who

the hell cares.

love me now before our bodies

combust and our souls fly away

because nothing good could ever last

and flowers die and

so

     do

            i.
