Let the Pieces Fall

From the heavens the blocks drop,
Ever so hard to predict.
Until the bottom they do not stop,
The goal for them is a line to depict.

Realizing the patterns that appear,
One can spend eternity trapped in a loop.
Still watching them brings pride and cheer,
As any mistake allows you to regroup.

The addiction is worse than any drug,
However, it's better for you than protein.
Anybody can play without needing to lug,
They can play whenever they have a portable machine.

Whether it's shades of black and white,
Or the colors red, orange, blue, and green.
One thing is definitely right,
This is the best thing you have ever seen.

Bring your game face with you,
Competition can get you a game over.
Try again when you practice too,
Bring a lucky charm like a four leaf clover.

You never knew how the pieces could fit,
Until you discovered rotation.
As they fall together bit by bit,
You've found the right location.

Endless combinations can be made,
Rid the lines from one to four.
Though there is no such thing as Cascade,
the challenge as all the more.

As it's up to you to make the call,
You must let the pieces fall.
Even if you don't understand at all,
Tetris will help pick up the ball.

I was just listening to Tetris Type: A when I got the idea for a poem about one of the greatest handheld games of all time. Can you spot how I used certain language to cover up what I really tried to say? Good luck, and have fun with your own poems!
